• Deliver in the comfort of your own home 

• Birthing should be treated as a natural process not as a medical emergency unless it becomes such

• Receive prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care all by the same person 

• Get a comprehensive outlook on birthing consisting of both a medical perspective and a wholistic/natural perspective 

• Blood work, ultrasounds, nutrition assessment, and other standards are incorporated to monitor pregnancy 

• There are many laws and protocols that midwives must follow to ensure safety measures are in place to identify high-risk moms or high-risk situations

• Medical Interventions are reduced to a minimum

• Birth plan decisions are discussed in detail and wrote out on paper

• Decisions regarding mom and babies care are discussed well in advance and consent forms are signed and recognized as a final decision before the birth
